Not a big golf fan usually ,but when the weather is like this Augusta has to be one of the best looking courses in the world.The standard of the greens and fairways is just superb.

As I said before, I'm really not a massive golf fan, but I like to watch the Augusta Masters and the Open. I even bought a USB TV tuner stick for my PC for this year (and for capping Glastonbury, admittedly) so I had been watching the coverage of Amen Corner too.

Maybe I am biased because the bloke that designed it lived just down the road from me, but it is a great looking course. I think that this year the course looked the best I have ever seen it, by a large margin. Most years are a bit early, a bit late, or it has been windy and cold and the flowers haven't bloomed. This year it was spot on, with blue skies and strong but cool sun. When you look at it on TV, it is so hard to believe that it is in an urban area, with developments on all sides - Have a look on Google Earth¬

The first 3 days had been a bit mediocre, with not much UK or European interest, but I don't think I have ever seen a finish like that. With various players fortunes ebbing and flowing, I even found myself cheering on Tiger Woods at one point! This is what great sport is about, not one person dominating everything with a predictable outcome.
