Anyone watch the first episode? I am following it on Virgin1 (Sunday nights).

I think the UK team looks pretty decent and all the stronger fighters seemed to get through except for Che Mills. Andre Winner looks a good bet to go all the way and Jeff Lawson looks pretty strong too.

US team selection is the next episode.

I did indeed. Looks like it might be pretty decent. The really tall guy (name escapes me) isn't going to last well I don't think, but there's definitley a couple of guys that look decent. The preview for the Americans seemed to suggest they had a very hard time making weight. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

I watched it for a bit, but then they started rolling around on the floor and i got bored.

I'm just not keen on UFC, i don't think it makes a great spectator sport. Wish they stood up and faught a bit more, but it's easier to go to ground all the time. Put me off the whole MMA thing.

2 boring guys on the ground is admittedly crap, but two guys who know wha they're at is great watching IMO. There was an outstanding jujitsu dude on the first show, that was definitly good to watch!

I shall try and watch this. Is it repeated at any time? Is it affiliated with UFC?

If you have Setanta Sports 1 it is on tonight at 10 (I guess this is the first episode rather than the second one)

Yes it is available online. I watched it online before it was on Virgin.

I've found a good place to watch fighting now they've got rid of the fight network. If you subscribe to Eurosport's on demand service (only online though frown ) then you can watch some MMA, K-1 and kickboxing. It's pretty awesome, i watched the K-1 GP the other day on there, steams well too!

Jim from our gym was the guy who got knee bared in the last fight of the first episode. Gutted that they matched him up against the guy Bisping was bigging up loads.

The guy who beat the fat ginger lad had his elbows flapping all over the place, asking for a body shot.

MMA isn't for everyone.

It's good entertainment biggrin

Am loving some of the stuff the yanks come out with:

Yank 1 "they think they can come over here and beat us to put themselves on the map"

Yank 2 "those guys need to learn how to talk English dude"

That kick was fantastic, came out of nowhere. It's funny because if you looked at him and looked at the guy he fought you would think he would get killed.

To be fair, I don't think the kick would have been so effective if Miller wasn't so gassed.

Fantastic kick. Perfectly timed, exactly the right moment in the fight to throw it!!!

Love the way that Bisping is getting into the Yank teams head. I think over the course of the series he will get into Decision Dan's head!

I dunno, Hendo has been in the game long enough to not let it get to him. You can tell it's winding up some of the young American guys though.

Just goes to show how effective a head kick can be, even if it doesn't carry a great deal of power.

Shins, Knees and Elbows are deadly.
