Well, I'm chuffed to bits! I've just bought my second pair of ski's and bindings and what a set they are, and they were a stonking bargain!

I'm managed to get a pair of 2007 Atomic SL 11 race slalom ski's with some Atomic Race bindings for just €100!!! A friend of mine is a pro skier and offered them to me so I jumped at the chance! These things are about €700-€800 new!

Best of all, the ski's were his "2nd pair", and have only been used about a dozen or so times and he just had them waxed and sharpened so they're like new.

I can't wait for this weekend. I'm off to 500cm of snow in Hochkar, Austria this Sunday to try them out.

woohoo

Renting costs too much over time though....plus living in Austria means I'm on the slopes at least every other weekend so at €30 a pop for rental, I've ended up buying my own boots and ski's and the cost works out much less over time.

I use Salomon Scrambler pilot 8's, with Salomon 810Ti bindings.

Awesome ski, nice and wide with a fairly narrow waist so they carve excellently, and can ride powder a bit too.

1996 Kastle Antithesis @ 203cm

I've returned to skiing over the last few weekends, and frankly, they look anorexic next to the short fat skis that people currently use.

I'd like to pick up a new pair at the end of the season, but tbh, I don't even know what style of ski I need.

Blimey! 203cm!!! That's serious old school!

My Atomics are 171cm which is 11cm shorter than my height. This is what your ideal ski height should be.

Volkl Tiger Shark 10's with PS and Marker iPT bindings. Fapping awesome!

Sticker price on them in Val D'Isere was 999 Euros. I paid under 1/3 of that for mine hehe

A pair of movement flames.
Well I would be using them today, if I hadn't got lazy yesterday and tumbled on the ski road of all things !!!
Looking forward to a bluebird sky tomorrow in Bansko, but it's snowing heavily now, and looks set for a few days !
More fun in fresh powder when you can see where you're going.

I have some v.old Atomic Lites 190 cm with Tyrolia bindings(used to get them "tuned to ski like 180's") but they became a bugger to turn with tired legs (I'm only 5ft 8 !) so I stopped taking them & rent 175s now. Much easier turning but I miss the gliders that I could pass instructors on.

Last seasons Scott Punishers.

All-mountain twin-tip that did me proud the whole of last season and 2 weeks this season (although hit a rock and broke my binding on the final day).

I would recommend them to anyone, you really can go everywhere on them.

Here here. Just rented a pair of Tigershark Powerswitches last week, wifey had to physically restrain me from buying them. Fanstastic to be able to adjust them on the fly depending on your mood and the conditions... For on piste they were incredible, and the AC50s are awesome as all-mountain jobs.

Crikey. I hope you are a seasoned skier or you may struggle with these. They require a lot of aggression and the side cut is low.

Never ski'd, but I would use Olin Mk6, as that is what Bond used in For Your eyes only.

Product placement? me??

To the OP, just do not take them off pieste. I rented a pair a couples of months ago and the acceleration out of a turn was mind boggling.

I currently have a pair of Bandit XX 191s, but need to get a new pair as they are so dated now. Still fking quick mind.
