Just wondered if anyone else on here enjoys a spot of fishing? Game, Course, or Fly!

Had my first sesion of the year on Monday in the farm pond the retired farmer owns next door. He though that there may have been some perch in there (he doesnt fish and it hast been fished for over 30 years!) Didnt catch any Perch but caught 2 lovely Brown Trout on mepps spinners! cant wait untill end of March when its Trout season!

Anybody else been out and had a bash this year? had any good catches?

I sea fish when I'm near somewhere suitable, which isn't often.

I used to fish every hour god sent, but then otters wipped out my local river, a railway firm wiped out my local lake and I had a kid, so I have caught about 10 fish in the last 4 seasons.

Enjoy coarse fishing, a bit of carping, but am not one of the boilie and bivvy brigade. Have been once this year, however, shall be countering that next week as we are off on holiday and by coincidence there happens to be a lake full of tench, bream and carp where we are going, and my tackle is already packed!!

Used to be fishing 3 days in 10, but baby gti has put paid to that. Maybe now 1 day every 3 weeks if i am lucky!!

I was out last weekend at Piltdown. I had a 5-6lb mirror but that was it, i had a run at 7am in the morning but due to dead batteries in the bite alarm i was fishing 2 rods through one alarm and hit the wrong rod and lost the fish.

the trips are hopfully going to get a bit more regular now it's getting warmer and staying late for longer.

Me too. I only fish when visiting the ancestral home.

Good to do it, though, and I love the fact that you can eat virtually anything you catch!

Got right into pike fishing a few years back (see serial hobby addict reference).

In the end it was more fun seeing what kind of mess we could get into, whilst stumbling about Highand Lochs - getting lost and laughing at each other falling in.

Quite often - well on the odd time that we did catch anything, it was usually too scary to un-hook, involved blood or worse we just giggled at it.

Pikes is mean nasty things biggrin

Love a bit of fishing.

Havent really caught owt other than Grayling this winter (fish rivers only) was quite something when pulling the Grayling in, as it more often than not attracted rather large Pike. Obviously the wise old buggers werent interested in the cheapo lures i dropped in straight after.

Hope to try a bit of beach casting this summer.

My brother and I are both very keen Barbel anglers. We fish a Syndicate on the Warwickshire Avon, fantastic fishing in previous years with Barbel to 14lb caught by myself. This season (I am aware that it is over) not so good, with very few fish coming out i have only managed one double of 13lb, which is poor by my standards.

We also do a little bit of river Carping and have had mixed success with only a few notable fish.

One thing I will miss when I move to Australia is my Barbel fishing.

When I'm allowed or have time, I just love to just get out there & fish. Help run our works Angling club, but as ever never get enough "lake" time.
Got some pretty good stretches on the Wensum & Yare to fish too, but tend to be a "fair weather" angler in recent years. Pretty poor I know.

You are an animal rights nutter anti-everything pr*ck's dream and ICMFP.

If you choose to go fishing, yet can't be arsed to learn how to unhook a fish correctly then you're a waste of skin.
And a bloody great wuss. It's a pike, not a great white shark you pussy.
