What a bunch of total clowns the West Indies Cricket Board are.

After recent years with incidents concerning sponsorship deals, players beng dropped because of these and a series of other politically motivated issues they go and shoot themselves in the foot again with the latest choice of test ground.

As soon as the players arrived at the ground on Tuesday they were all unhappy with the ground and particularly the outfield which appears to be 75% sand. We are now 45 minutes into the game and the West Indies bowlers cannot bowl as they cannot run in properly due to the sandy surface.

There are 3 grounds in Antigua and it appears that even with a known problem at this one it has been chosen to hold a test match.

Play now abandoned for the day and given the fact you cannot relay a playing surface overnight I guess the match is now off. God knows how the fans who have paid so much money to get here are feeling currently.

Pity the thousands who have no doubt shelled out a fortune to be there just for the match...

I'm sitting here gutted that such a fiasco can be allowed to happen, so cannot imagine how the fans out there are feeling at the present time. frown

The comments on the BBC live text are hilarious

"They can't even organise Test cricket, let alone beach cricket - they'd probably arrange it for when the tide's coming in..." Sir Geoffrey Boycott on TMS

I couldn't get a flight and hotel at reasonable cost when I looked earlier this week. I'm now glad or I'd be sat in the ground, Wadaddli in hand, cursing the incompetents responsible.
