At the start of the season I had a bet with a Geordie mate of mine that Newcastle WOULDN'T end the season in the Top 6. If they finished inside the top 6 I had to pay him £100, if they finished outside he had to pay me £50.

Not only are they not going to finish in the Top 6, but if they finish outside of the Bottom 6 I'd be surprised. In fact, having seen their remaining fixtures I'd not be surprised if they were relegated.

They face Man Utd, Arsenal and Chel$ki at home, and will play away to Liverpool and Villa. Add to the mixer that they face a relegation dogfight with Middlesbrough (who they face at home) and also face Stoke, Spurs and Portsmouth - could this be the year that we finally wave goodbye to the Toon Army?

I'm now considering placing £50 on them being relegated. Odds of 7/2 aren't great, but it's a no lose situation?!

Newcastle really are awful but picked up a valuable 3 points the weekend. I was considering backing them to go down myself but I think they might just be ok, as Stoke, WBA and Boro (as mentioned above) really are that bad that

Seeing as its a no-lose tho, and there run in is bad as you said, could be worth a punt

They will unless they get their act together and soon; more chance of them going down than Newcastle IMO although being from up North I'd like to see both survive!
