There's no comparison for me.

For both football skill, and as a character: Messi.

Lionel. All day long.

CR is a good player, but not as good as he thinks / wants to be.

What a fking stupid question on here. The only people who are gonna answer are the bitter scousers and any other envious team supporter.

How can you vote for Messi when you don't see him play anywhere near as much as you see Ronaldo ?

BLAH BLAH etc.....

Just another anti-Ronaldo thread.

Jealousy strikes, once again.

Forgive me, is Messi on M.O.T.d every week or do you have access to Spanish league TV every week?

You've maybe seen a few flicks and farts as highlights but you surely can't make a decision on the two as you haven't seen them play in equal measures of time.

I stand to be corrected ?

Most of the big spanish games are on sky, but I do agree with your point.

CR is capable of better, like last season for instance, they are both great players, but its hard to judge when they are not in the same league.

OK then.

Let's put it another way. Why have all the footballers, football writers and indeed anybody who is 'in' football, voted Ronaldo as the best player in the world. Period. ?

And yet, here we are on Pistonheads and all the muppets are voting for Messi instead ? scratchchin

I wonder which set of people know what they're actually talking about ? smile

Messi is as good as Ronaldo at the very least... Its obvious to see hat when he plays. But they don't play in the same league, and our league is harder IMO.

And Ronaldo was voted on the back of last season, which was probably something he will struggle to ever replicate.

Ronaldo won it last year as, yes he had a great season, Man Utd cleaned up in everything they were involved in.

I guarantee if Barcelona had won La Liga & Champions League with both Messi & Ronaldo playing exactly the same as they had done last season, Messi would have won it.

Messi is a far better & more consistant player in my eyes, Ronaldo loses the ball an awful lot and has a nasty habit of dissapearing in big games. Messi very rarely has a bad game and can do it on any stage (hat-trick agaisnt Real, anyone).

Still, Ronaldo's goal tally was incredible last year. I'm not having the whole argument about him being a winger as last year he had a very low amount of assists. Yes, he starts on the wing but very rarely do you see him staying out wide.

Just my opinion.

Watching Ronaldo on Match Of The Day is hardly going to be accurate. As it's just highlights! They won't show everything. Like when you watch a Youtube clip and someone appears to be amazing, when in reality, they're not.

I try and watch some of the big spanish games on TV, and if I can't get them on there, then there are always streams available.

So, yes, I have seen a lot of Messi!

The fact that Messi isn't a also helps sway the decision.

rolleyes

The fact that Liverpool is full of s is the reason none of their players (or fans) will win anything again this season.

You might think Ronaldo is a but I guarantee you'd have him playing at Liverpool if you had the chance. Jealous scouse scumboy. thumbup

None of their players will win anything this season? You do forget that Torres won quite possibly the second best trophy in the world at the start of this season? Which was the trophy that poster-boy Ronaldo was supposed to lead Portugal to, but in the end done 3 steps short of fk all, again.
