Quick question, I cant sleep, so am going to watch the "Superbowl" and have a few beers!
Which team should I support, as I know nothing about either!
My knowledge is limited to "The Fridge" who played for the Chicargo bears back in the 80`s, and I cannot see him in either line up!

Just enjoy the sideshows and the catering. Hardly anything happens on the field and as soon as it does they stop playing and wander about for 5 minutes. Makes cricket look dynamic. smile

I got back from the supermarket about 30 minutes ago over here in Yankieland, where I got into a discussion with some guys stocking up on beer for the game. I can categorically state that saying "Football? Isn't that like rugby? Only for pussies?" doesn't go down very well.

I've taken the morning off work to watch it. I've missed 3 in the last 20 years but only missed 1 World Series final game. Got the beer and the Haribo fizzy bottles ready.

Haribo fizzy bottles?!!

I think watching a game in America is very different to watching a game in the UK.

I am going to see how much of it i can watch before getting bored and going to bed smile

I have seen two live games, the latest being a Patriots game. I still don't get the appeal. Nothing happens! They have sooo many players, and swap around after literally 10seconds of play. The atmosphere is usually quite good though (when watching live) smile

Here's a slightly random video of the Pats entrace... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYGwvm_XjA8 they just keep on coming!

Anyone betting against the Steelers? Their season has been jolly good when you look at the Cards. Fitzgerald as a receiver may be a playmaker. This will be fun.

Why do they always cock about their anthem....just sing the sodding thing and get off.
Good turn but on too long.

The Steelers will win IMO.

Yank football is a game of very complex strategies and skills, contrary to what most Europeans think. smile

As I have said countless times before....no offense, but rugby guys (tough as they are) would not last five minutes on the field with NFL players. The gear is more a weapon than a protective measure.

That said, if one has not grown up with it or taken the time to truly understand the intricaties, it can be boring. smile

An interesting point, are you saying that you think an American Football team would be able to beat a Rugby team at both there own sport, and Rugby itself?
