sorry boys.. was late at night, didnt think to look for a new thread when I habitually posted in the Oz vs Saffa one.

Poor atempt at change of subject.. wasn't the tennis final awesome! wink

Anyway, bring on Friday; off to the Gee to cheer the lads. Surely we can't lose to the shaggers two summers in a row frown

Yes, the tennis was a real gutsy match from both players - made a nice Sunday morning viewing here ... hats off to Nadal for showing super fitness ...

Nice to see a sport where there are two people right at the top of their game at the same time - perhaps where one has dominated for so long and now the perennial runner up is ready and poised to take the mantle of no.1 ...

A few parallels there for the forthcoming English summer don't you agree? hehe

Are the saffas going to be in England during the ashes tour? Awesome!

I must confess I'm getting a bit sick of saying well played the other lot, but when all is said and done the sheep shaggers took a lot from the field placings and bowling that the saffas used against and executed well.

On the other hand we appear to have learned nothing ( yet ).

I was working late and only saw the last six overs during which we nearly got the game back, or were they just teasing us.

Not to worry though a bit of a tuning session here and in SA before we head off to the bleak north should have us in sufficient form to beat the lot that the dodgers put forward, even if we were still incapable of beating the Bangers or the Zimbo's.

As for the tennis, after the semi on Friday night I had a feeling that either of the Spaniards would account for Federer if they still had enough juice in the tank after what was an epic battle.

biggrin 2-0 biggrin

Didn't see the Convicts bat but 225-5 is a shocker isn't it first up!?

Good solid effort again by the Kiwis ...

What odds on a whitewash?

Note Punter given a couple of games off in order to learn to write to pen his resignation letter - good stuff.

What an ordinary ide Australia look - even 'Mr Cricket' was fluffing 'em in the deep - oh what joy!

I'm with HSV on this, most disappointing we seem to always be about 30 - 50 runs shy of where we need to be.

I also think that D.Warner as a work in progress might need a bit of a rethink, when he comes off he's a handful but 2 from 6 or 7 just don't cut it.

The good news is that it's going to hit 40+ in Sydney today and my team is batting, chasing 226 oddly enough with all 10 in hand, I'll feel pity the fielding side for maybe 5 - 10 seconds biglaugh

Jesus, that is hot. Got a mate in Melbourne, I'll drop him a line to see if he's still alive. We were out there a few years back around GP time (end of March?) and it was warm, but not hot - kind of late 20's?

Not going unfortunately, I was supposed to be in Brisbane every Sunday & Monday until the end of June so I'm not spending large on tickets to anything on those days.

As luck has it I'm not away so I'll spend the morning in the shed working on the clubbie then park in front of the tele with a full fridge and hopefully cheer the boys home ( for a change ).
