Oh dear...

Minus Points

No Kaka
Robinho buggers off home to Brazil
Bellamy bought for £14m

Plus Points

...er...

You see, Chelsea could start from a mediocre position and make a success of having a billionaire owner attracting world superstars for 1 simple reason...

shout They are situated in London

The Arabs should have bought Brentford

Quite. As the headline in the Times said "They wanted Kaka, they get Bellamy".

Geography may have something to do with it, though I think Chelsea were at least there-or- there-abouts before Roman's money arrived - top 6 and a few cup wins. Man City can only offer money and bottom half of the league.

I'd also point out that whilst Tottenham probably dodged a bullet with Bellamy, Spurs fans (and others) may not be laughing at Man City when they outbid for and over-pay every other player they may fancy...

The most depressing day of the year ended badly for me. As we ran down the Anfield Road to our car my wonderful nine year old son piped up "At least we scored Dad!".

A blizzard on the M62 looked like it would bury the car in it's tracks, into bed at 1:00am wondering what the sporting headlines would hold in the morning.

Turned the telly on this morning and was rolling about laughing within seconds.

It's a wonderful day if you're not a Citey fan.

As a Manchester City fan since the fifties/sixties, personally I am glad Kaka is not coming...it was a joke from the start.

I also think Bellamy WILL be a good purchase, along with Bridge,... when SWP, Ireland etc get back to full fitness, plus if/when we sign Given from Newcastle we should be OK, with all the summer to sort things out....

As for Robinho, what will be will be, he will be disappointed Kaka is not coming and has thrown his dummy out of the pram, what we need is people that WANT to play for the club, of the calibre of Summerbee, Bell, Lee etc..... not just there solely for the money.....

Rome was not built in a day, but I do believe in two/three years we will be up there with the big four....biggrin

United have the theatre of dreams...we have the theatre of comedy......laugh

I think that we'll see the big four become the big six in a relatively short space of time.

Villa and Man City don't need the funds from the Champions League. Enough top footballers will go for the money, or in Villa's case a superb youth setup, a brilliant manager, a loyal set of players with great team spirit.

And how will that change the top 4 into a top 6?

Kaka just proved that Money don't mean much to the top stars - if the best city can get with their money is Bellamy the top 4 are safe for quite some time...much as I'd like Villa or City to replace Arse I just can't see it happening...
