Evening All,

Long shot this but does anyone have a rough idea on the mark up that the average tout charges for an everyday type of game to watch Liverpool?

Not talking big derby games or anythign like that just an avaerage normal game?

Cheers

Dan

Touts around the ground? guys on the street?

Is it really that much of a mark up?

I know lots depends on demand for the game etc but I didn't expect it to be that high.

I have been offered tickets at face value at the ground. Not big games mind.

Try one of the Liverpool fans forums. Would have thought there'd be some face value tickets on there

Best way is to stick to the same pub when you go, and get to know the faces in there.

Most of them get spares through doing the pools.

Have you tried getting tickets via the regular route ?

Online is usually a crappy seat in MX opposite the visiting cavemen, phones you can normally get in the Kop if you have the patience and work commitments allow you to batter the phone all morning. I usually found postal applications worked 75% of the time.

Have your wits about you if you're attempting to buy off a tout and you don't have a purple bin outside your house. Buying or selling above face value is seriously frowned upon, it only happens on the street. Have a read on the likes of http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/ for a heads up, but don't go asking for spares with a post count of 3 on there.

If you must go and buy off a tout, listen out for blokes asking for spares (they are selling) in the Centenery Stand car park, or on the pavement outside the club shop.

Really don't know the going rate, but I know a lad who had to give 120 quid for Arsenal at the Emirates.

Cheers for that.

Yeah have tried to get them the regular way - every so often we get lucky. Fan card has got a couple of games on it which sometimes helps.

Online isn't too bad but like you say seat choice is often poor.

Phone system is a joke - absolutely appalling system.

Considering giving the touts ago and seeing how we get on.

Cheers

Dan, if you PM me I'll give you the telephone number of Tout Tony, he's a good bloke and won't piss you about. I know a few lads at Anfield, but most are footsoldiers for a few guys that actually have the tickets. The guys walking at the back of the kop asking if anyone wants tickets rarely have them at that time. They look for offers, then arrange a meeting some time later. Most are very open, and friendly. If the market is flooded on the day I'd be looking at buying at £70, the market price for Hull was £80-90, but even offering £180 for two together I couldn't buy from a tout. I tried to buy for a Mersey Derby game seven years ago and couldn't get in offering £150.

The only game this season I've bought at the ground was Hull, and I paid £70 each. It took ages though, because I needed two together as I was with my lad. £70 was below the market price on the day though, there were so few tickets available, I ended up buying some spares from other supporters (long story).

I've said this before, but the best way is to write for every game and be patient. I'm sure that they have a system which rewards persistant tryers, because I got nothing last season, this year I've got Scum, Stoke, Everton, West Ham, and Chelsea through writing off.

Good luck mate.

This Tony guy, is he any good at getting tickets for away games?

As much as I "love" the four hour drive every few weeks up to Anfield, it'd be nice to see the Reds a bit closer to home as well once in a while.

You're a barrister Soovy, I've never read such misplaced self-righteousness.

Not sure. I know he sells hens teeth, gold dust, and rocking-horse st, but I've never thought for a second he'd have any away tickets.

Unlikely, season ticket holders only.
