Have had a couple of training sessions in it and want to do it more... So was thinking about getting some gloves, and anything else i might need. Can someone point me in the right direction please, nothing special and not going to be used in anger i hope !

thanks

Get yourself over to Decathlon (Canada Water). For under £40 (or so), you will be able to pick out some shin/instep guards, some hand wraps, and some 16oz gloves.

I bought mine 3 years ago, and they are still doing well. I also now have MMA gloves (open palm), to spice things up.

Drop me a line if you want any advice / info etc. Where are you training? I was with Vipers, and now fight with Team Relentless MMA.

Depends what type of kickboxing you are doing, full contact?

Get some 14-16oz gloves for sparring, 10oz for fighting, a pair of kickboots, head gaurd, groin gaurd, gum shield, hand wraps and a pair of shin pads if applicable.

Top Ten do some decent stuff. Stay away from crap in JJB and the like.

If you want a really nice pair of gloves go for Reyes, but be warned they are not cheap.

Bytomic is a good company to use for Top Ten.

Happy training.

i got my kit off my instructor - might be worth seeing if yours knows of anywhere or is able to get hold of some for you.

if you are just starting out, get some wraps and some 16oz gloves (and a gumshield). you may get some use out of some ankle supports too. those will see you good for a bit until you get into sparring. your first few weeks should be pad and bag work and maybe light sparring (although depends on your aspirations and instructor i guess!)

enjoy!
