He should drop down a few leagues and try it when he haven't got any money ...

A bit like Paul Ince ... not as easy as they thought is it these once big-time players wearing the bosses coat ...

That would make an interesting Tyne/Wear Derby. Also means the opportunity is now gone for Shearer & Keano to square up to each other as managers in the above clash too!

I dont think that would be McCarthys level.

A press conference will be called this afternoon to tell the Man Ure fans that the training facilities werent up to standard and that the members of the board were getting all the good seats on the plane.

Poor Triggs will get some walking now.

As a Sunderland fan I was really pleased when he came but kind of glad he has gone. He raised the profile of the club, got us promoted, but he was just wasn't very good at the management/tactics side of things.

We move on.

And so to will John Boyle (Boylesports) and the rest of the Irish bandwagon to where that c**t goes next.

I am a Liverpool supporter, but I have always had a soft spot for Sunderland, I`ve been a few times, I was there for Niall Quinns testimonial, a game Keane didnt attend. Hopefully now I can watch the results on a Saturday and be happy to see Sunderland winning again, I hope they stay up, but I just couldnt support them while he was manager.

This is a difficult one. On one hand I do believe he had took us as far as he could, but on the other I think it was accepted that come the January window a lot of players were going to be offloaded. When/if a new manager comes in he may want to give all the players a chance, so no body leaves and we still have 40 ish first team players, then the dreaded relegation and all those players on the books on big wages. I do fear for the club.

Yet again proof that great (if dirty) players do not good managers make....

Bobby Charlton at Preston NE for instance....

However Keane is still young and learning and I reckon one day he will manage Manchester United......

I hope he does, it would be great to see Man U back in the old Second Division.
