Well - thoughts on a postcard fight fans...

At the beginning I thought "What?, what a ridiculous miss match"

But the closer it gets the more I think Manny has a chance...

A great night for a fight!!

Manny Vs Oscar
Amir Vs someone
White van Man (Enzo) Vs Someone who is gonna get knocked out very quickly.

Oscar to win, Amir to win in the 4th round, Enzo to win in the 3rd via a big left hand.

I take it you've been watching 'Big Fight Countdown' or 'De la Hoya V Pacquiao 24/7'. These programs are designed to hype up fights, sell pay per views and make you believe this is not a miss-match, but that is exactly what it is.

It was less than a year ago that the same program got people whipped up into a Hatton frenzy and had people believing Hatton would/could beat Mayweather. It also led people to believe Haye V Maccarinelli was a 50-50 fight.

De la Hoya wins this after Manny puts in a good show in the early rounds.

I've always been a De la Hoya fan, but he's lost some respect in my eyes with this match. But I'll be watching all the same, along with millions of others, this is what De la Hoya is after here, not a competitive contest, job done.

I'd love to be proved wrong and see Manny do it. 1. it would shut De la Hoya right up. 2. It would save Hatton from an equally predictable loss to De la Hoya.

Enzo is fighting Francisco Alvarez who has had 2 days notice eek, is a 12 fight novice, most of which were at light heavy.

He was offered Herbie Hide and refused. Enzo is ranked 3rd with the WBO, Hide is 4th and Alvarez is ranked no 15.

Enzo is now ranked as a gigantic pussy with me, whilst Frank Warren gets away with offering up another serving of crap.

Warren is really bad for the sport of boxing, he's blocked more competitive fights than he's promoted.

ETA The no15 WBO ranking of Alvarez is at light heavy, he isn't even ranked at cruiserweight.

If you look back through my posts (and others on this forum) most of us were of the opinion Hatton wouldn't win.

I'm not saying he'll win, my initial thoughts (as I said) were 'this is ridiculous' however, i've been following the camps closely on the web, and the only reason I think Manny 'could' pull off an upset, is because he's looking a lot bigger than I thought he would. If he can take the stamina and speed with him, then he's in with a chance, and could certainly be capable of building up a big enough lead in the early rounds to take a points decision...

Looking forward to it.

Golden Boy may have lost some his respect as a fighter goes in some circles...why I don't know, is he not normally in Pac Man's shoes?! But as a business man he is a fking genius!!

Consider this, he loses, its the end of a glittering career but Pac Man will fight Hatton...who is the promoter of potentialy the biggest fight in history?

He wins...He fights Hatton/Pretty Boy...who is the promotoer of the biggest fight in history?

Whatever happens Goldenboy wins in a big way.

If Pac Man lasts 8 rounds, me smells a rat, there is a near natural 5 weight dvision between the two (now), and at this end it counts... a lot!!

Will being ordering ,the fight anyhoo, cause I think both are true greats, and how often do you get a "what if fight"

This fight is not a win-win for De la Hoya. He'll have a st load of egg on his face if Manny beats him. Promoting Manny v Hatton will be of little consolation, lucrative maybe, but will not make up for losing to Manny.

I say Oscar wins between the 5th & 9th.

On another note, Maccarinelli will now make his heavyweight debut against Matthew Ellis after Alvarez was pulled out after failing a medical.
Hide was offered the fight but declined.

I take back my earlier comment about Enzo being a gigantic pussy, he clearly isn't. Frank Warren is still a 1st rate wker though.

Anyone know what time this is due to start? Also, is it on the radio anywhere - looked on the five live schedule and it doesn't appear to be listed.

Froch fight earlier was very good to watch smile

Can see OdlH getting beat even though they're all talking up Manny ...

Enzo looked very good earlier (albeit against a guy totally out of his depth) but he semed quicker and fitter - I always thought of him as a bit 'fat'?

Staggered ... Manny was truly world class and Oscar was ... well, awful.

No strength, headmovement, few punches ... a shell of his former self.

Quit now Oscar.

Wrong.

Hatton isn't contracted to Golden Boy Promotions and neither is Manny Pacquiao (Bob Arum).

Only if DLH fought either men would his promotions company promote the fight. Since he got his arse handed to him by Pacquiao the Hatton fight is looking very unlikely.

As for Pac v Hatton. Pac man tears him apart.
