Does anybody play pool?
Discussion
Does anybody on here play 8 ball pool competitivly?
I play lots with my mates in uni and at a local snooker club but would like to start playing proper competitions against other people. I don't really frequent any non student pubs so don't know of any local pub teams and I've always imagined the people would be really clicky and the local snooker clubs don't seem to offer any regular singles matches. I'm not amazing by any means but would like to compare myself against others rather than just friends.
So to anybody who plays pool:
Are there any novice singles tournements out there?
What is the level usually like ie am I likely to get hammered by people who play 7 days a week?
I'm based in South Wales as well if that helps.

Yes, I play in a local singles league, and 2 team leagues.
I don't know what the quality of leagues in your area are like, but we're fortunate/unfortunate (whichever way you look at it!) enough to have a 3 time world champion, and I think 3 England internationals (current European champions) in our singles league. If they play to a similar standard in your local area, then yes, you will most likely lose quite a lot of games, but it's a good challenge playing better players.
There are two sets of rules, Blackball (which I play), and World Rules. Which do you play?
