Well Pavlik won by way of knockout against Taylor in their first fight and then beat him comfortably in the second to win a wide points decision. Taylor beat Hopkins twice (argueably he was robbed in one of their fights) so it could be argued that if Pavlik beat Taylor so easily then he should beat Hopkins, however..

Styles make fights!

Hopkins has never been put on his backside and I don't think he will tonight either. He is a spoiler and even though he's 43/44 he still has fantastic head movement and counter punching ability so don't be suprised if he pulls this one off ala Tarver/Trinidad.

If Pavlik comes and tries to take Hopkins head off he is going to get hit with the overhand right all night long unless he applies enough pressure (much like Calzaghe did by swarming him) to tire and frustrate Hopkins.

On paper Pavlik takes this hands down but I just don't see it being that easy and I certainly wouldn't want to place any money on this fight.

My guess is that Pavlik will win a very controversial decision whereby he wins a couple of clear rounds towards the end of the fight but Hopkins spoils and counters easily upto the 6th round but doesn't do enough to take it. Oh and I wouldn't be at all suprised to see Hopkins win by way of stoppage.

If he does get beaten badly then he should hang his gloves up as 5/6 years ago he would have taken Pavlik to school.

It should be a good fight but it won't look too pretty!

yes

A textbook display! Just goes to show what happens when he is allowed to fight his fight.

Perhaps now Calzaghe will get some appreciation for pressings Hopkins the whole fight and throwing punches from all angles? hehe
