Should Levy (ENIC) Sell Spurs? Bids Are To Come In.
Discussion
According to this mornings Guardian:
Spurs will be sold before the end of the week if chairman Daniel Levy can agree a price with a billionaire Far East investor.
So, should levy sell-out?
Personally I don't think so. I don't think there is much wrong with the club - performances excepted. After all, just before the season kicked off he managed to spend £67m on players thus making us all feel pretty jubilant AND STILL made a profit from the transfer activity over the summer - that, frankly, is Superb. To create the feel-good factor whilst turning a profit within the operation of club that has only won 1 trophy in 10 years is immense when compared even to the top 4.
Plans are already drawn-up for the expansion of WHL now so why sell?
Mahir Bose - BBC correspondent - writes:
"Levy's deal-making skills may be legendary, and feared by the rest of the Premier League, but failure to translate this on the field of play means Tottenham may be condemned to remain a club where the playing record does not match the financial results."
And therein lies the rub - we're still not achieving on the field are we.
Would some Asian billionaire help...I'm not so sure...perhaps its a case of better the devil you know.
So my tuppence worth: No - lets see how things pan-out, our issues are on the field - the club is in rude health.

doesnt make any sense to buy a premiership club now, unless your business plan allows midtable mediocraty. everyone has been buying clubs saying they will make into the champions league - four places, five clubs with a realistic chance in years ahead. one club will end up very unhappy.
