Has to be us, problem is I cant really say there is a team in Europe that has been consistently good for 10 years. Chelsea are getting there, Barca, Madrid etc have one good season one bad.

Inevitably United will drop away again over the next few years

I’d side with Newcastle United, my side brings new meaning to mediocrity, but we do have Owen, oh and Duff. That's got to be worth something...?

Not a hope.

Real Madrid have won the European Champions League 3 times over the last 10 years (since 1998). AC Milan have won it just as many times (twice) as Man Utd over the last decade as well.

Anyone considered any of the South American teams? Only they seem capable of beating the European Champions League winners at least half the time they meet them in the World Club cup or whatever its called.

The scum last year, you can't argue with a side that wins the premiership (at it's most competitive stage in history) and the Champions League with Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in the semis with them.

Surely no team has bettered that in the last decade.

Can't we move this conversation to a far more relevant decade, say the 80s?

Of course they have, Madrid took on all-comers from all of the European Leagues 3 times and came out holding the trophy - thats more than United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Milan, Juve, Barcelaona, etc...

They have won it once more than us in the past 10 years, but they won it when it was a lot less competitive than it is nowadays. The emergence of Chelsea for one.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_Cup_and_Cham...

Click the link above and you will see that we are top of the champions league all time success rate, based on wins and progress in the competition, with Madrid in 2nd and Barca in 3rd.

Fact is United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea would/will beat Franco FC if drawn together in this years champions league.

None of them have dominated their domestic leagues at the same time as the filth have done.

So largerandrock's statement that they didn't lose a game in the league is not a myth, but a fact.

Just did a search... inevitably, since they didn't win every trophy on offer they lost a few cup games - two CL group games, both legs of a two-leg League cup semi-final, an FA cup tie and one leg of a CL quarter-final.

Which still takes nothing away from the achievment of going a whole league season unbeaten.
