First ever 13 miles for me, went too fast on the down hill bits and ruined myself for the last 3 mile drag home (god that was tough). Managed 2hrs 4mins. Definately joining my local running club and back next year to beat that for sure.

Anyone else do it and how'd you get on?

Well done on your half marathon!!

I did not do Leeds, but doing Windsor Half in less than 2 weeks. Well worth joining your local club, it will make you train differently and you will see the improvements

I did the Wolverhampton half-marathon last weekend, first time for me too. Managed a 1:52 (8.33 minute miles) which I was quite happy with for my first attempt. Although that was no doubt helped by the most mis-timed, and most painful, 'big' finish in athletic history.

I'm also off to join the local running club next week as I want to be able to knock a big chunk of time off that whn I do the Birmingham half-marathon at the end of October.

The fella that won the Wolves half-marathon averaged 5.33 minute miles!

Really? Weak race! It is the inter-season break now though so I guess that's not too surprising.
