booing is very very very small time, and sums englands pathetic fans up, the same small minded dheads who boo national anthems and cant respect a minutes silence for munich.

scratchchin...yeah...about that...its about time that was left alone now - I for one get fed up hearing about it...IT WAS 50 YEARS AGO ffs.

Sorry if that offends anyone but I am seriously bored with the way that keeps getting rolled out every year as "the ??th anniversary of the Munich air disaster blah blah.."

Other British aircraft full of people have come with many more fatalities since then and yet you certainly don't hear about them every year. So, until we start having a minutes silence for say the 146 British victims of the Boeing 727 Aircraft Crash in Tenerife in 1980 or the 46 who died on Boeing 737 which came down on the M1 in 1989 as opposed to the 23 who died at Munich I don't see the requirement for a even a seconds silence.

I mean, its gets TV programs devoted to it, Radio phone-ins, Press mentions every sodding year etc - If I didn't know better I'd suspect it was some kind of plot by the powers that control football in this country to keep Manchester United at the forefront of peoples minds...

Like I said though, I know better...whistle

It's history, move on.

IMHO

what a pathetic ill-informed post.

It was the 50th anniversary of a plane crash that decimated some of the finest players to ever play football, including the finest player to have played the game Duncan Edwards, who played several times for England.

The fact is that you may be bored of hearing about it, but it was a minutes silence, and the pathetic dick head england fans couldnt observe it, which shows their mentality and is one of the reasons why every proper man utd fan hates the english national team.

When the Everton fans came to Goodison after Sir Matt died they behaved impeccably as did the city fans at OT for 50th Munich anniversary

England tt Fans 30 secsish

It's ironic that a Man United fan whilst moaning about pathetic England fans should make an equally pathetic and idiotic statement like that.

Perhaps that's why so many people hate United and in particular their 'fans'

So are we scrapping rememberance day too?

The reason it is repeated every year at FOOTBALL events is because it was FOOTBALL tragedy.

Minutes silence is respected for lots of other disasters by billions of people in rememberance of those who lost their lives.

Also you should never move on from history, and educated person will tell you to remember history and learn for the future.

You pleb, in this world where there are so many bad things happening, sport is the one thing that brings us ALL together, in happy times and BAD times.

Have a bit of respect.

Sports divides us as well as bringing us together, as can be seen at every competative event around the globe and indeed in this thread too.

Booing doesn't have a place in any sport, be it fans expressing their disgust at their own team, or hatred of another. Sadly it's common place in football and serves only to highlight the downfalls of the sport.

Your a good example of why women shouldn't talk about the tribal warfare that is modern day football - you'll never understand the male perspective on it - now go away and let the men continue unmolested and free of the piffle that inhabits a womans mind - lets adjourn to the drawing room chaps...

VR: I have not condoned the booing of the silence - just the need for the silence 50 years on.

Elster: You talk a load of sanctimonious old bks - who do you support btw - What lessons can be learnt still from this crash? Twaddle.

Yes - England are hyped up beyond belief and the fans are encouraged to follow the team which costs an arm and a leg nowadays.

If they underperform in some football-forsaken backwater after luring you half way round the world to watch them then yes, if they dont deliver, let them know how you feel about it.

1) England players can't be arsed to perform for their country - they deserve to be booed by the fans, most of whom don't earn in a year what these primadonnas earn in a week.

2) Munich air crash was 50 years ago. Manchester Utd have already benefited from the tragedy to the extent that half of Torquay and 2/3rds of Guildford support them because their parents felt sorry for the survivors.

Move on...

I just like football in general, I don't follow a particular team.

yes

Absolutely - A Football event where the whole team was wiped out with 4 games to go whilst leading Serie A. Ended up having to play those last 4 games using their youth squad!

It's here if anybody is interested:

The point I'm making isn't anti-Utd it's anti-standing quietely for stuff thats half a century old and which in the great scheme of things to be remembered is lower than most other disasters but gets inflicted on us every year.

I mean, some of the survivors have since died of old age ffs.

All IMHO
