Looks like we don't have one of these.............. oh wait, we do now!

Unbelievable result today from Liverpool - played shockingly ste but managed to pull a result out of the fire with 2 late goals! 6 from 6 now, and both matches we've been terrible. But, last season those are the type of games we got no points from, so it has to be a good thing from a league perspective.

Nice to see lil Mickey get on the score sheet today - Newcastle upsetting the form book with a couple of good results so far. Another Liverpool old boy Djibril Cisse also on the score sheet for Sunderland - well done lad, hope you do well.

As are Hull which is also a bit of a surprise, and fair play to them.

So, Fulham 1 - 0 Arsenal. I think Hleb and Flamini are being missed big time - and they've not been replaced. I think Arsenal will struggle to make 4th this season, imo. If Fabregas gets injured then they're buggered.

1 Liverpool 2 2 6
2 Blackburn 2 1 4
3 Hull 2 1 4
4 Newcastle 2 1 4
5 Chelsea 1 4 3

Stop the league now!! hehe

This is so un-liverpool like, dont they normally start crap and get better? They seem to be scraping through with late goals.

Liverpool have played two "ok" teams, they will start too drop soon.

The difference is that the 'ok' teams are the ones we usually drop points against and then do ok against the big teams.

I couldnt care less if we played really badly and won every game with a 1-0 in the last minute if means we win the league.

Ok, thanks for clarifying that. I'm glad someone can predict the future round here.

Yes.

I look forward to your appraisal as to why not and will take it on board, then probably realise like everyone on this thread we know no more than the other person.

Try me.

I think the way we've been playing so far, no. Also, ultimately no as well because Utd and Chelsea are just too good. Squads with better depth and some very talented individuals. Also, last season we were top of the league in November iirc but we had a horrendous 6 weeks in and around Christmas, dropping points to ste teams and by the middle/end of January we were out of contention. We need consistency, and we need to turn draws into wins in comparison to last season.

On paper the addition of Keane is great for us, but there's no doubt that the club is in turmoil over the Barry saga. Rafa wants him, the money is there, but Rick fking Parry and the board have refused to sanction the move because they don't see the value. So we have an internal rift at the moment. I'm in two minds over this situation. The board needs to back the manager's judgement as he knows best who he needs. Can't help the nagging feeling though that we need better wingers, and that should be our priority.

I think its a bit early to be making top four predictions as the usual suspects for 5/6/7 have started badly - Pompey, Spurs, Villa. I thought one of them would push Arsenal for 4th this year but maybe not.

Speaks for itself Liverpool fans still living in the past you have no chance of dislodging the top 2. As a European outfit I have to conceed that you are as good as any but domestically you are way off.

Which is exactly what I said 4 posts up. We're not good enough, or have enough strength in depth, to challenge Man U or Chelsea at the moment. We've had two very streaky wins. Let's not let this thread descend into name calling and finger pointing anyway, there's enough trolling in that other thread.

Is that the same Villa who lost to newly promoted Stoke? wink

Pre-season I'd have said the strongest contenders to break the top four would have been Spurs, Villa & maybe Pompey.... not going too well so far for them! Still, the league wont crystalize till nearer xmas anyway so lets see where they're at then...

True, think Arsenal have gone though, they looked awful in their opening two games. Should be interesting too see how Man UTD get on today.
