Yeah it's a good choice, though I'd favour Gerrard for obvious reasons... pleased it's not Ferdinand anyway.

Who cares who is captain, it's the team he picks that's important. Beckham, James ( woeful against Chelsea) Heskey!!!, get a grip Capello.

England Captain is... irrelevant until a team can be built rather than a collection of individuals.

With Ashton and Owen injured, who would you have picked in Heskey's place? Maybe there's a case for Agbonlahor... but difficult to pick on the strength of one game.

Hilarious! For a start Terry isnt the best centre back at Chelsea, Carvalho is. Ferdinand is a class apart from Terry.

And then there is Terrys character, a cry baby, convicted criminal, parks in disabled bays, makes fun of 9/11, repeatedly cheats on his partner and (allegedly) made obscene racist comments at Ledley king, all covered up by the FA. Great role model and why England will continue to win sweet FA

bit difficult for RC to captain england though isn't it?

a player crying? Gazza, Pierce, Ronaldo (!) - just goes to show how much it means to them

convicted criminal
not the first or the last

crime of the century

it's called gallows humour

scraping the barrel as it's got nothing to do with it, unless you're a Sun reader

not proven

BTW you might want to read about another player who was also a convicted criminal, womaniser and cry baby

Obviously RC cant be captain, im merely highlighting that Terry isnt even that good, Woodgate injuries aside is a better player for a start.

He cried like a baby when he missed a penalty, not the type of player who should be inspiring players. He sets no examples commits crimes, crys again like a baby in court, parking in disabled bays is just another sector of his flawed personality.

As for the (alleged) Racism, its a public forum so ill say no more, but if you look at the reaction of the Tottenham players and the chelsea players it says it all.

But then again your a Chelsea fan, a team built on money taken from the Russian public, and every Russian I spoke to in Moscow hated Abramovich, so there is no reason to expect any morals from you.

In terms of Rios footballing ability he is miles ahead of Terry, Rio is without question the best centre back in the world.

In terms of captaincy, there are questions over Rios character. But hypothetically speaking of course I would much rather have someone who did a line of coke as my captain that a racist.

maybe you'd like to throw your hat in the ring when FC vactes his post, seeing as the last three managers have selected him as captain?

Trawling my threads again my murkeydive chum. I know your a scouser so literacy is probably not your strong point, but I have at no point expressed my desire for Rio to be captain. In fact I would prefer no United player to actually play for England and their moronic national anthem booing fans, who cant even have the decency to respect the Munich minutes silence.

last 3 managers have selected him and england have been terrible for years, not exactly a great point eh

Hypothetical question one - should a racist captain the England team?
Hypothetical question two - do you think if Englands black players thought that the captain was a racist it would affect team moral?
