Fergie has admitted off the record that the one player he has bid for is Berbatov, and that he is very confident of it going through.

Would rather have Eto'o but hopefully Berbatov will be banging them in alongside Rooney, Ronaldo, and Tevez this season

Would have Huntelaar (?sp) over Berb any day. Berb sulks and can be far too anonymous. Not worth £25+ m. Too much of a risk.

Saw Fergie being interviewed on MUTV. Didn't hear him name Berb.

I too like Huntelaar but after Kuyt and Kezman clubs are wary of signing dutch strikers for big money. Ferie said it off the record, as he doesnt want to do a Madrid.

Worth every penny of 28M. I think United should write the cheque without delay. That Robbie Keane's st though. If I was Rafa I'd not take the chance.

In Rafa we trust, 19 years and counting! I actually think Keane is a good player, I just hope they blow their budget on Barry, not looking likely now though.

He might have sulked at spurs but he wouldnt at United we always bring out the best in players.

It's all a game at the moment. I'm sure United will surprise everybody with several late signings. Can't wait for the new season and our next treble bounce

Ok. I'll just settle for the treble thenwink But if Berba comes on board he will have to learn the United way and do some bloody work off the ball - goals are NOT enough when you wear the Red shirt!

roflrofl Just a few over the years . . Veron, Saha, Taibi, May, Berg, Djemba Djemba

Utd have only marginally better succuess in the transfer market than the other 3.

I think Berbatov is a touch of class, in a team like United, he could be lethal.

I'd like to see him go.

Something I posted elsewhere which the Liverpool followers enjoyed. biggrin

.....AAAAAnnnnnddd they're off folks, in the 19th running of the Anfailed New Season Stakes.

New Formation is looking good but Pre-Season Hope has a better start and takes an early lead. There's Seeds of Doubt coming up on the shoulder of Dawn of Reality and The Truth is hot on his heels. As we enter the second half of the race Hope is fading but The Faithful still believe although Delusional has, as usual, moved into a good position. Aaaannndddd it's into the final furlong. Early Exit has been and gone as Reality Strikes for home. But wait, putting in a storming run at the close is Norfolk'n'Chance, once again bringing another Anfailed season to a close.

Not sure if he's agreed terms but I think it will go through in the next few days... he's a good signing, but 20 mill?

I'd agree with those sentiments but disagree on the valuation - He's clearly a £30m player at the very least.

yes

Berb is def off and I can't wait to get rid of him to be honest. keane I would prefer to stay but 20 mil for a guy thats nearly 29 is good business. We won't let him go though until we have a raplacement apparently. ( according to my mate who is a sport journalist)
