Horse Riding

Anyone else do this? I have a local council stable which looks cheap enough for lessons, but it seems like at a minimum i'll need to buy riding shoes/boots, gloves and suitable trousers.

So my question is what should I be looking at for this equipment? Has to be cheap initially, i'll go for better quality if I keep it up.
