Diet Pills - whats the deal with them???
Discussion
A few of my mates have started taking diet pills as part of there work out (t3,t4 or t5's) and are adamant they are making them lose weight much quicker.
I have never been big believer in anything like this and have always felt you should just eat better and work out harder...Maybe I am one of few thought?
Has anyone in hear ever had those and if so did it work for you? and are the any side affect?
My gf has even got wind of this now and says she wants some to lose weight yet she is only frickin small anyway ..
Any opinions please

Most of them suppress appetite and speed up metabolism I think..
Nail & headA bit of a gimmick in all honesty, I've been in to training for quite a long time, I've been lured into buying all sorts of suppliments over the years but experience has shown me there is no subsitute for healthy eating and lots of cardio/training. In the last 2 months i've dropped over a stone from this simple equation.
drink a *load* of water throughout the day.
I used to weigh 119kgs and am now 105kg (6'5"), 3 months later. I drink about 4-5 litres a day, as well as cycling about 20miles daily, rowing 10k and doing a weights session 3 times a week.
it's not difficult if you keep up the cardio, but don't mess around at it with sub 20 min low intensity sessions or you won't get anywhere.

Opinion based Sir, I prefer short bursts of cardio with limited rest between them for about 30 mins. Works wellI used to weigh 119kgs and am now 105kg (6'5"), 3 months later. Diet suppliments do most certainly work as most accelerate the metabolism.
I have seen people make good gains with a sensible diet, lots of exercise and these: http://www.usnonline.co.uk/shopping/shopexd.asp?id...
I haven't used them but have seen people use them too good effect.
I've started doing more interval training when running.
Instead of a 40-60 min run on 11 km/h, i now do 10 min run on 12km/h, then 1 min on 14.5km/h, 30 secs on 11km/h back to 1 min 14.5km/h and repeat for around 20 mins, i'll then jog for 10 more mins.
So less time spent running, but i have noticed a big improvement in my fitness especially when sparring in Kickboxing. I do spinning 2, 45 min spin classes per week too which helps

Interval training is really good. It has got pretty extreme in years of late too, lots of articles on the net are about Tabata(sp?), basically 20secs of hell, 10 secs rest and repeat 8 times. You do this on 4 exercises like push ups, sit ups, burpies and squats/lunges. Most don't get to the 6th rep on the first exercise!Instead of a 40-60 min run on 11 km/h, i now do 10 min run on 12km/h, then 1 min on 14.5km/h, 30 secs on 11km/h back to 1 min 14.5km/h and repeat for around 20 mins, i'll then jog for 10 more mins.

This Tabata chap is a prof of sport in Japan and found a direct link between max Vo2 intake and gains in strength and fatloss. Give it a try...

(He's just been on the new Gladiators as a contestant. Apparently there is a new gladiator who has never been beaten at the one where your up on the platforms and have to knock each other each. Well Paul knocith some quick martial arts punches. Its being aired soon, might actually watch that)
Sadly, due to restrictions/banning of the potent ingredients in these 'diet pills' the modern ones aren't the wonder product they would like you to believe. The most effective way of stripping fat with pills is still the old 'ECA' stack (ephedrine, caffine and aspirin). These should only be used by bodybuilder types when striving for bodyfat % of around 3-4. Unless this is what your after then save your money and just stick with the cardio and get your diet sorted.

Isn't ephedrine illegal though?Big Alf said:

How would you take these? i.e how often and in what quantity?Personally i bought some eph from canada (8mg) and some caffeine aswell
i take 200mg of caffeine in the morning when i wake up 7/8am and 1 8mg eph tablet - i find it works well appetite is almost completely quashed - i pretty much have to remmind myself to eat as apposed to feeling hungry.
generally if i am training after work i take another 8mg of eph @ 1/2pm (any later and i think u may struggle to sleep)
i take this in conjunction with training pretty much 6/7 days a week as others have said it does make a difference - its a weird feeling u feel more focused / wired / 100% intense on trying to a achieve a goal - thus far i have no experienced any of the side effects.
if you would like the link where i got the stuff from feel free 2 email me.
good luck

Regarding training...
i find HIIT is far more beneficial for weight loss than SSCV
per example
i can do hours on the cross trainer @ a medium level - but doing HIIT i do say 4 mins @ level 12 then 1 min full intensity @ level 20 then repeat do this for say 30 mins - like wise on the treadmill running 4/5km is not a big deal , but if u do say 1min walking 1min jog @ 7/8 kmph then 1min @ 15 kmph u will soon feel tired after 15/20 mins

I just bought some EPH, but have just gone through a break up so decided not to take them until i sort my head and my diet out again.
A colleague raves about them, but is also quick to point out that unless you continue to eat properly and workout they aint going to do diddly squat.
Hes right , and so are you not taking them if u r feeling down / depressed they make your mood more intense so if its good , its better... if its bad ...well its obviously a bad thing.A colleague raves about them, but is also quick to point out that unless you continue to eat properly and workout they aint going to do diddly squat.
