Anyone doing this on 31st August ??? Here's the e-mail i got below.

Hi Chris,

As a hardened RunLondon veteran, there's no-one better qualified than you to represent the capital.

On August 31 '08, one million runners from 25 cities will take part in the first ever global 10K - the Nike+ Human Race.

As part of the London leg, you'll set off from Wembley Stadium with the roar of 10,000 supporters in your ears. You'll then race 30,000 others through the surrounding streets, finishing on Olympic Way in front of the famous floodlit arch. This will be an event like no other.

To kick things off, there'll be pre-race live performances from Moby, Pendulum and Carl Craig.

Registration has just opened, but as a loyal Run London combatant, you're one of the first to hear. Grab a spot before everyone else.

Race entry is just £30 and 10% of your fee goes to charity - so you can make your Ks really count. You can also buy two tickets and take your mates to watch the live music.

"Just £30" for a 10k?!?! rofl And one where it'll be so populous you can't get into your stride for ages so no chance of a good time.

I did it last year and doing it again in a few weeks. Surely all 10km, marathons etc are just full of people everywhere and hard to do decent times ?????

So no option if you want to take part

Not really, the london marathon has groupings for your time so the faster runners do not trample the slower ones. Smaller races of 1000 people are much easier to get a good time on as there are only 50 muppets in the wrong place rather than 15000. I ran the British 10k for 2 years and it took me 40 mins to cross the start line. Then after 300m we passed people walking the course.

More and more races are trying to sort people by time so that it helps the flow of the race. Faster runners will trample the slower ones which no-one likes. It also means everyone can get their best time this way.

Picking one with 30,000 entrants is an interesting one though. There are 10ks going on round the country every weekend with a few hundred entrants each - I'd always pick one of those over a high-profile event.
