what an awesome tournament its been so far, today has probably been the best yet with the dutch wiping the floor against the french!.

Glad England couldn't make it, we can all sit back and watch some quality football.

Seems to me that Croatia, Netherlands, and possibly Sweden could upset the apple cart, although Portugal are looking strong.

The Dutch underestimated them.
Arshavin never stopped working for the whole game. To take on the defender for pace and get that cross over that late in the game was just excellent. The Dutch looked like they were winding down for penalties by then....

The Dutch didn't turn up last night!

Although can't take anything away from the Russians - Arse-haven looks like a quality, quality player. A real old fashioned number 10 playmaker in the mold of Georgi Hagi.

The question is, how did he get sent off against Andorra to miss the first 2 games of the Euros?!

I think it's been a great rounament on the whol - can only remember one, maybe two dull games.

Being spanish I have to say that I am glad the arrogant italians were sent packing! They were poor from the word go and did not even deserve to be in the tournament based on their performances

Since at least 2001 when England beat them 5-1 the Germans have had a very mediocre team and yet in that time they've been in...

1 World Cup Final
1 World Cup Semi-Final and now
1 Euro Final

Thats 1 more final than England have EVER been in!

Becuase they are organised, do the basics well and work hard. Any team like that will do well - look at Turkey, look at Greece in 2004 ...

They have only one 'star player' (no not you, Lehmann) and while no way as good as previous German teams they are solid.

I just wouldn't like to win the tournament as I don't think they are the best team in it. I would like either of the other two still in it to win it. I think the Russians are superb - and can beat the Spanish. But I just hope we get a good game.

Who has missed England being there, certainly not me ... at least it has stopped the press every day printing pages and pages of bks ... will they, won't they specualtion which is just tedious. And it's also saved the drama and disappointment of us being knocked out (probably in the groups atages this time) ... we can't live with some of these teams and would have been shown up badly I think. Most of these teams play at a fast pace and England don't. A bit like Italy.
