My Mrs is part of a committee organising a charity ball + they are hosting an auction.
One of the lots is a Darren Gough signed cricket bat does anybody know what sort of money
these go for? As I'm thinking it could be a cheap way of buying a decent cricket bat.

Wont go for much at all and your right, if its a good bat thats worth more than the signature.

A signed Chelsea shirt by the entire squad and JM in his last season went for about £400 when i gave it to a Childrens charity.
A signed Eng football by the World Cup squad went for just under £300

I have quitea few signed rugby shirtsd but very few things that a worth a good amount of money. These days they have to be really special or signed by someone who is dead. I have a shirt worn by a player in the 2003 Rugby World Cup final signed by the entire squad just after the game and Martin Johnsons shirt he wore in his last ever game for Leicester. These are worth quite a bit with th right crowd

I think we did rather well then last year we got £230 for a spurs shirt signed by Robbie Kean.
I'm really not holding out much hope for a signed Mark Vinduka(spelling!) shirt from his Middlesbrough days.

Pissed City Boys who don't want to get out bid by other city boy is your best bet. I've seen some really crap stuff go for silly money when that happens. The ego's of these guys is crazy, but fair do as the stuff im involved with goes to help pay for Dr's and Nurses in war torn countries

Be careful of the cricket bat, many of the bats for auction are dummy materials and are not willow bats.It would probably fetch up yo £200 at auction depending on the crowd at the charity auction.

My son has one of Gazza's England shirts from the 1990 World Cup - not sure he wore it in a match though.

And one of Beckhams from 98 (I think) and one of Owen's as well ...

Not that he'd sell them.
