Wot it sez.

Watching day 2 on Fox and there was a minor collision between Taylor and Anderson, Broad covered his mouth and eyes like a school girl.

He can definitely play the game no question about that but I think that an opponent who gets between his ears will cause him a lot of doubt.

Roll on the ashes.

Im sorry, just to be clear. Two players ran into each other and Broad obviously thinking the collision could have caused injury, winced. Thats your theory for him not being able to stand a bit of sledging in the next Ashes series ???

Like I said, he can play a bit and I hope he does well but at the moment that moment showed a softer side that offers an opening to be exploited and not necessarily by sledging.

I think any decent quick will be able to get at him through the bloke at the other end.

He batted well and also bowled an excellent line even if a bit one dimensional, Anderson by contrast bowled very well as his figures might suggest with the ball going both ways and using the width of the crease to change the angle and open up the off stump.

You're totally wrong about Broad. He is actually quite chippy and aggressive, well known for it. He was understandably concerned that his colleague had been injured in a collision that looked in the first instance worse than it was. Nothing wrong with that, it's just being a rounded human being, but I understand how you might struggle with that concept. He won't hesitate to bowl throat balls at convicts next year, you needn't worry about that. (Or exchange verbals, although I'm concerned he might get into hot water as recent history shows that Punters Aussie pooftahs struggle with that these days and go bleating to the umps if anyone calls them nasty names wink).

Broad looks like the real deal as an all rounder to me - I think he'll develop into a far better player than Flintoff. He's young so his pace will creep up over the next few years as he fills out. His batting technique stands scrutiny and it looks like a 30+ average would be attainable in the long term, imo.

Top player for the future.
