Harsh on Grant

Sven would be a very good replacement.

I agree, but I don't think he was very popular in the Chelsea dressing room.......

Comes to something when you get sacked for coming second in the Champions league and premiership...frown

Yep, I wouldn't be shocked to see him got there.

Feel sorry for Grant as a person, but in footballing terms it's great news. His tactical ineptitude cost us the CL final and gave next year's gloating rights to those scum from the North. We needed someone better at defending than Essien at RB, and leaving someone of Shevchenko's experience on the bench in such a big game (in pretty much his own country) was criminal. After going 1-0 down, rather than ranting and raving trying to motivate the troops, he was sitting glumly looking like he had wind.

Let's get someone decent this time please. Sven or Mancini would fit the bill nicely. Failing that we'll have Jose back. Just anyone but Frank fking Rikjaard.

Tactically inept? United were on the ropes in the second half of the game on Wednesday. Only the thickness of the post on 3 ocassions stopped Chelsea winning the cup.

As for Shevchenko, he's a carthorse!

Hmmmmm shame really, I think he did a very good job but there's a lack of stability at Chelsea with Abramovich in charge and this sacking was always on the cards.

I think it'll be Frank Rijkaard next.

In fairness, perhaps he did have. It can be quite off-putting.

Buck said: "We have very high expectations at Chelsea and a couple of second place finishes is just not good enough for us.

"So although we never would have thought in September when Jose Mourinho left that we would be able to make it into a Champions League final as we did - and that is fantastic - Chelsea are here to win trophies.

"So although it was an excellent season, we are still disappointed."

What a load of bks. I hope Chelsea continue to spend a shed load of money and never win a thing. I'll be really happy to see the back of Drogba from the premiership.

I hope they told him the day he was appointed, the very day that they thought they had no chance of getting anywhere in the Champions League, that it didn't matter what he did he wouldn't keep his job....

Is it a coincidence that the top 2 teams in the Premiership have held on to their managers for absolutely years and years...?
