Charvis omitted from South Africa squad

Whilst I understand Gatland's reasoning that Charvis is 35 and he is building a squad for the future, I have to say I disagree with this decision. Playing players out of position at 7 is not the way to go imo as it won't really benefit them in the long run apart from a bit of game time.
We are missing key experienced players and are facing a huge challenge to get any results down there. I can't help feeling that leaving a player of his experience at home will make the team for these immediate games weaker.
