Looks like we have a half decent fight on ITV this Saturday......
Carl Froch v Ruben Williams
And
Junior Witter v Tim Bradley
Should be entertaining enough, looking forward to seeing what Witter is doing at the moment, and incidently, I think Hatton will be paying close attention too...
I think he knows it's the fight the fans want. Malignaggi and Mayweather will more than likely be his next opponents though, probably, and assuming he beats Lazcano, who is certainly no chump.
A win by Froch (who incidently is using a lad local to me as a sparring partner) will help him prepare for a potential clash with Kessler, as I imagine Clazaghe will drop the belts at that weight rather than defend them, to concentrate on Jones or Tarver.
All my thoughts of course.

Calzaghe may be dropping to 168 to fight Jones or he may stay put at light heavy, it's currently up in the air. He has however stated that he would definatly drop in weight for a fight with Pavlik and I would love to see that fight as I reckon Pavlik's style is perfect for Calzaghe.
Anyway, yes this weekend we have some great fights taking place and I too will be interested to see what Witter has to offer.

Isn't Pavlik fighting Gary Lockett in a few weeks time? Thats a good middleweight contest, Froch should be a good test at super-middle and could certainly win titles, JC will be a light-heavy from now on. Moving down for him would be to much now I think.
A good performance from Witter on Saturday will up his stock for a Hatton fight but it'll be 2009 at the earliest. Unless he loses of course in which case a Witter fight coould be his only option.

What do you think are the chances of an upset in the Hatton fight?A good performance from Witter on Saturday will up his stock for a Hatton fight but it'll be 2009 at the earliest. Unless he loses of course in which case a Witter fight coould be his only option.
Lazcano is in the top 10, so definately has a chance, but would probably have to knock RH out as it's in Manchester. I've never seen him fight, but heard he's useful.

Always a chance and seeing as this is a 'homecoming' fight it would just be typical that he loses on home soil. I'm not concerned by anything that Juan has for causing Ricky any trouble - but what does concern me is cuts. He's not cut up too badly in his last few fights but it's always a worry.Penguin said:
Very close but the best fighter won without a doubt. Brilliant right in the sixth from bradley.
Almost forgot about this!Edited by Penguin on Saturday 10th May 23:28
Witter was pretty poor, didn't show any heart, needed to string together a couple of good rounds after the knockdown but didn't. Got up well though, and didn't ever look to be in trouble as such, but I expect we'll see plenty more of Bradley.
Hatton on Saturday, looking forward to it, currently reading his autobiography, and sat and watched his DVD last night.
I'm all excited again
Witter fought the same fight he always does, he just happened to come across a better fighter.
The Hatton fight should be interesting, especially given that he currently suffering from a chest infection and training has ceased for the time being. I still reckon it should be his fight and he seems pretty level headed about his loss to Mayweather.
He is either going to come back stronger for the loss or he is going to be over cautious to the point where it will cost him some close decisions.
Lets hope it's not the latter!

How on earth that Murray from Manchester won his bout is beyond me. He was outworked and beaten to the punch throughout the whole fight. Khan would end Murray in the 1st round based on that performance.
Witter looked totally out of sorts and ideas, for someone who thinks he is the best in the world at his weight you would expect more. Bradley was far more hungrey for the win.
Froch was easily better than his Danish rival, he really needs to start stepping up to a higher level if he really wants to big fights. Rather than calling out Joe Calzaghe evey week he should concentrate on the next man. As Barry McGuigan said "no disresect to Froch but Joe is in a different league" (or similar).
