Just watching Stephen Hendry and have just realised how long I have been watching Snooker and was wondering if Jimmy White is still about? I thought I remembered Jimmy being at the last World Champs?

Can't see Hendry winning it again, but O'Sullivan is a bit mental!

Jimmy's still about, but currently ranked around 60 in the world.

As said, he failed to qualify for the WC, losing in the first round.

He still has faith in his ability, vowing to "retire to Spain and play golf" if he didn't think he was good enough.

I fear we won't see him at The Crucible again though.

I've seen him in a couple of exhibitions round here against Ronnie O'Sullivan, John Virgo and Steve Davis.

These exhibitions are quite entertaining but can be quite dull. Jimmy's a good player but not exactly a vibrant compere. He needs someone to get the crowd involved. Virgo was excellent. Ronnie was poor, and there was heckling from the crowd.

But, in the match against Steve Davis, in a lowly leisure centre in Bletchley on a random Tuesday night, Steve scored a 147 in frame two and got a standing ovation. The nugget's still got it. smile
