Funnily enough, it was Roberto Carlos and the 'was it a cross?' attempt that I had down as a fluke goal

That goal in your link (above) reminded me of the Kevin Keegan Scissor/Overhead kick bullet from outside the penalty area for Southampton which was ruled out but if it had stood...my god...what a goal.

I suspect most of you don't know what I'm talking about and sadly I can't find a clip of it on You Tube.

I have loads of favourite goals though.

If you take the situation out of it (see David Beckhams freekick against Greece, Gerrard's comeback goal in 'that' final etc) then I like Xabi against Newcastle
