BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBIRDS
Got to say, Wembley is a fantastic stadium albeit in a rubbish location, spent ages walking to Alperton because they decided to shut down Wembley park.
As someone mentioned, the BBC are only interested in the big English clubs, if it was Chelsea V Man U they would have been all over it like a cheap suit, the WBA V Pompey game didnt even get shown first on match of the day.
Anyway, bring on Pompey.

Although to be fair, it was on live on BBC1!!disco1 said:

Obviously I want Pompey to win, but if Cardiff did, will give the FA a euro headache: Do they give an English Euro slot to a Welsh team or not? Sheepy said:

And as for the Euro slot, Cardiff have been playing in the 'English' leagues more or less since they were founded and have always played in the FA cup reaching the final 3 times and winning it in 1927. They pay their taxes to the FA rather than the Welsh FA and totally deserve a euro spot, ManU and Chelsea should have taken it a bit more serious. No one to blame but the clubs competing. Shrewsbury and TNS play and win the Welsh cups/leagues but you dont here us complaining.
Cardiff are probably the most British club in the prem/championship. A team packed full of Scottish, English and most importantly Cardiff locals. How many North Londoners play for Arsenal? Mancs for ManU or city? SW Londoners for Chelsea?..etc..etc.
We love being the rouge outsiders, bring on the pompey

Further to the Euro issue, the problem apprently is that the "Welsh" teams that play in England are regarded (by both the FA and EUFA) as "guests" (the same is true for "English" teams that play in Wales). Under the current rules, teams that are "guests" in a league system cannot be awarded a european slot allocated to the association which runs that league. Therefore even if Cardiff won the premiership, they would not qualify for one of the "English" champions league spots. Instead, the Welsh FA would have to consider whether to give theirs to Cardiff!
Of course the "work-around" from EUFA is to give a "wild-card" slot to Cardiff IF they win the FA Cup. That slot would probably mean reducing the number of entries from one of the more minor associations (my guess would be the Welsh one!!).
Interestingly this might explain why Rangers and Celtic dropped the discussions held a few years ago about them playing in the Premiership: They would not have been able to qualify for Europe if they had.
