I am not feeling confident about my beloved Liverpool, Rafa is good in Europe but against English teams... I just feel nervous that we will be on the wrong end of a football raping.
Reina and the defence have me nervous during set pieces and so a good result I think would be 2-1 Arsenal.

Or am I being too negative?

I think Torres and Gerrard are going to be key, if Gerrard wasn't on the pitch, Flamini and a centre back could double up Torres and nullify him, then I'd suspect Arsenal would walk all over you, similar to Milan when Gattuso and Kaladze doubled up on Ronaldo. Flamini can't spend all his time on Torres though, because it would give Gerrard a lot of space to roam. I'd say going 4-4-2 would be most effective, playing Torres on his own will give him the attention of two top class centre backs, Ferdinand on his own managed to keep him in his back pocket, so Gallas and Toure shouldn't have too much trouble.

If Liverpool go through over two legs I can see it being 0-0 then 1-0 at home, Arsenal are a much better side though, so it's all going to come down to Rafa's tactics I feel, if they both line up with similar systems and mentalities, I'd expect Arsenal to go through, just look what they did to Milan.

Whats the difference between Liverpool and Pamela Anderson?

Pamela has only two tits in front of her.

You will lose from a Man U fan.

What a great contribution rolleyes
Back to the original question - agree completely about playing either English clubs, particularly ManU and Arsenal.
I hope he plays 4-4-2 with Crouch and Torres up front.
Gallas/Toure are very good. Just like ManU the other week, their centre backs didn't have much to do all game.
Also hopes he doesn't play Kuyt - loses control too easily. Clichy is so quick he'll mug him all game long.

See I do hope he plays Kuyt as he is quicker than Crouch and he could pull defenders away from Torres. A one upfront approach will spell disaster very quickly.

Look at that from a typical manc .

Won your first away champs league tie since 1999 and you feel it necessary to unleash your IQ of 12 on us all.

Fvck off mancs.

Don't you start, you hoping for more than 20,000 people to watch the home leg?

Problem is I suppose Liverpool have rubbish wingers, wouldn't really want to see Pennant and Bennayoun try to get the better of Arsenal's defence!

but Babel can't play on the wing either, no left foot, too predictable, always cuts inside or goes nowhere. Rafa won't do it anyway, it'll be Torres up front alone with Gerrard behind and Kuyt playing an attacking fullback role ffs.

Tut tut now come on lads im really from London and not a true Manc, just pulling your leg.
Add at least 140 to the 12 please.

On a serious note I think Arsenal will do Liverpool tonight 3 0, Liverpool have had a good run lately but I think Arsenal have much more attacking talent than one man Torres, take him out of the game and I dont see your old boys at the back competing with the pace.

I'm not sure Arsenal can take Torres out of the game, Toure and Gallas are nowhere near as good as Ferdinand/Vidic, Gallas is maybe around a similar level to Vidic, but Ferdinand sts on them all from a very high height. Torres may not have been able to deal with Ferdinand, but I can see him causing Arsenal issues, especially in a 4-4-2.

A lot of it pins on Adebayor, Skrtel and Hypia aren't really good enough to play against top class strikers and if he's on form, he'll walk all over them. Jamie C will have his work cut out there, especially if RVP plays as well.

Ooooh that was tight gentlemen, leading up to a tense game this weekend and the return leg is going to be real tenterhooks time. Kuyt scoring meaning he has the same scoring record as Tevez.

And I do not want to be seen as rubbing it in for the blues (I am not a manure fan afterall) but that seems like a tough result but at least you have that away goal.
