I noticed on sunday that Torres seems to be loved at Anfield more than any player I can remember (I first went in 1980 so missed Keegan). I wouldn't have dared make this comment after such a short time until reading this :

Any other LFC fans on here with a view?

We'll never forget this season, the impact he's had on the side and quite simply what he's done to the opposition so far.

Without his goals god only knows where we'd be... can you imagine relying on Kuyt now? Jeebus.

Anfield legend? He already is - but best ever? Some way to go to catch up with King Kenny and even Fowler. Another season like this one and I would say yes.

If He's got any sense He won't be at Anfield next year - There's only one team that plays in red wink

he's clearly an amazing talent,
but the one thing he lacks is longevity.

If he continues this sort of form over the next 2 years or so, then i would have to agree.
but not yet, Kenny proved it over 6 or 7 seasons, Rush over the same sort of period
even God had 4 decent seasons despite injury.

the touches he has shown, the pace couple with intelligence and a hard work ethic (the latter two showing why Cisse failed) earmark him as a potential great.

i also like the way he doesn't dwell on things when they go wrong, whether it's losing the ball or getting fouled..he just gets on with it.

I like his song too!
(to the tune of 'The Animals go in Two by Two'):

His armband proved he was a red - Torres, Torres
You'll never walk alone it said - Torres, Torres

We bought the lad from sunny Spain
He gets the ball he scores again

Fer-nan-do Torres Liverpool's number 9.

Torres has been exceptional this season, no doubt, but he has to do it over a few seasons. As some have said, could you imagine where you would be without him??? You'd be vying for a oplace with Villa, and Pompey

+ Aldo and Beardsley, and I think Owen in his first few peoper seasons, and likely Fowler too. Torres has had a cracking first season though.

Anyone who thinks hes the best liverpool has had so far is deluded.

As said hes a long way away from robbie fowler in my book, and Ian rush also.

And although he is a great player, he aint got no place in the UTD sqaud

Look at the statistics in the article. Every club in the world that could afford him would want Torres in their squad. Obviously he's no Saha rolleyes

I would rather have rooney, ronaldo thanks and teves for that matter they are all stronger on the ball and more rounded players imo.

Not doubting torres though, as he is a gifted footballer.

They're more rounded players, not more rounded strikers. Torres has everything to be a top striker.

Less to do with Torres, more to do with the fact the rest of the squad is so far lagging behind the top 3.
