It seems most of the threads are on the usual back page subjects: cricket, football, rugby, etc.

Any actual sportsmen around (I've seen the running thread btw)....?

Do you just mean participants or professionals?
I do a martial art and am hoping to achieve my black belt within a year, but I don't do it professionaly.

Used to represent the South West in the class of boat we sailed. (Mirror)

Still sail competitively and regularly race at the national championships and other regional championships in the class we currently sail. (RS200)

I co-drive on national B road rallies and National B stage rallies (when funds allow) but rallying is just too bleddy expensive and makes sailing look cheap!

Muay Thai = quick way to get very fit! Did it for 4 yrs, but didn't do any gradings, just sparing. Shin on shin rendered me unable to speak on several occasions!

Mountain Biking, and I plan on getting back into playing squash again, having previously played it to a pretty high standard.

Did 7 rounds sparring today and ended up with a bloody nose. Been doing it for 14-15 months now. Did a lot of very tough rugby training in my teens when trying to make it as a top pro, but nothing is as tiring or mentally draining as kickboxing in the ring.

Thinking of going to Thailand for as weeks full on intensive course when im close to black - but a bit scared

I occasionally play rugby & sail a bit too.
Used to play semi-pro rugby in late 90's until I found I had degenerative arthritis in my back & couldn't make the big hits. Now I occasionally trot out for a social side or play 7's.
The sailing is mainly crewing for my old man when he races. I also surf a bit, but only when I'm down in Devon
