Yesterday officiated (of sorts) Watford vs Stoke.

In 25 years of watching football at various levels this was possible the worst refereeing performance I can recall witnessing.

We had John Eustace sent off for a challenge which at worst should have been a booking and gave us a penalty which was as soft as my midrift!

This is a referee who I believe had been demoted from the Premier League because his competancy was questionable. Why are these referees not sacked? Why is a referee such as Styles considered suitable to officiate a top of the table clash in the Championship having made a sows ear of refereeing in the Premier League?

It's just not acceptable. If I was found to be consistently inefficient at my job I would expect to lose it.

Styles must lose his job.

His 'two yellows, but stay on the pitch' to Essien was his 'piece-de-resistance'!

Alfahorn - I wasn't there yesterday, but I already consider Mr Styles to be incapable of fulfilling the role of an impartial referee. The man is, simply put, retarded. I'm not sure how someone who doesn't understand football is capable of running a game - but someone does.

Remember this?

I thought it was another player who went into the book, but it just appeared he just showed the card to Essien

That was what he claimed later, but it was fairly obvious who he was waving it at.....

Looks like the curse of Rob Styles struck again.

Apparently a non-sensical red card for Forest at Northampton yesterday. The idiot is a class A knob who is incapable of impartially officiating a football match without demanding to be centre of attention. A diva, if you like...

He should be sacked immediately, before someone sues and wins. He could open up the floodgates - and the FA will only have themselves to blame.

I can't see how Birmingham's penalty could have looked like a foul from any angle! I'm quite disappointed that they accepted it, especially given they were winning at the time hehe. A greater man, David Beckham for example, would have ballooned it over the bar. Or at least would have tried to miss. wink

Seen that happen before in italian football, one of the greatest bits of sportsmanship I've seen.

Think Robbie Fowler did it as well after tripping over his own feet!
