Never noticed how many All Black high tackles in that Barbarians try.

I think the France try vrs England is the best.

I've stumbled across this bit of footage. Not a try but worth a watch biggrin

Yep, and they all seem to be on JPR. Good job he's tough as old boots. I think the All Blacks had it in for him, here is is getting some pretty horrific treatment playing for Bridgend v New Zealand in 1978 (I think):

Didn't think much of your clip, BTW... wink

Edited to add: my personal favorite is the Phil Bennett one vs Scotland, but I've just realised the link didn't work in my initial post. Here it is again:

Love that try! I'm a bit upset with myself actually, as I forgot all about it when compiling my OP.

It never ceases to amaze me the way Barry John just seemed to ghost past people. Someone like Phil Bennett was also a master of beating men, but it was clear to see that with him it was an outrageous sidestep and searing pace that did it. With Barry John you just never seemed to be able to work out quite how he did it - he just seem to mesmerise defenders!

Fantastic guy to talk to. He used to visit my local up to about a year ago. (out in the sticks so he could get away from it all). Such a shame that He's a raving alcoholic though.

His sidestep was awesome. He just seemed to jinx slightly and was through, hardly a sideways movement at all.

Haven't got any moving pictures sorry but Don Clarke slotted a sideline conversion to beat France in Wellington in 1963 in an 80mph wind by kicking the ball directly across the field and letting the wind blow it over.

This has to be one of the best displays of phase rugby, just how long did the Ospreys keep hold of the ball before they scored??? Was a brilliant, brilliant night!!!!

Sorry but I have not looked at all the youtube clips so not sure if you have posted John Bentleys try from the 97 Lions Tour. Well worth a look if it's not there.

I did actually search for that, but it doesn't seem to be there. They do have the clip of Scott Gibbs dumping Os Du Randt on his backside, though, which is always amusing to watch. smile

I must admit I did search for it. There is a video on youtube, a montage of clips from the tour to wonderwall about halfway through it's shown the great solo try.
