How many calories do any of you burn in the average gym session?

Mine is 2000 calories in 90 minutes (5 days a week), so far I've lost a stone and 5lbs (maybe more) since beginning of Jan.

fukin awsome.
one thing ive found is no matter how good your training is you need the correct diet to lose the pounds, check out the www.nutritiondata.com got all you need to know about every type of food. also if your hitting the protein shakes, stay away from the ones that are mixed carbs & protien go for 100% whey protein isolates theres about 25 grames of protien per drink wich is between 80-100 calories. "e.a.s" or "optimum nutrition" do the best products.

Congrats, that is some going. 2000 calories is a LOT to burn inside 90 minutes. What are you doing? And what are you eating?

Are you sure you burn 2000 calories in 90 mins.

I burn 1000 in 90 mins. 30 min run thean hours personal training (twice per week)
I burn 600 in a 45 min Spinning Session (once per week)
1000 in a 1 hour kickboxing session (1 on 1) (twice per week)

How did you work out 2000 as that is a hell of a lot

I have to say that 2000 calories in 90 mins is going some. If I run for 90 mins at a hard pace, I only burn around 14-1500 and I cannot do that 5 days a week. Worth checking your calculations.

Apart from that, 90 mins 5x a week is great going and well done on the weight loss

A rough estimate is 100 calories are burned for every mile run,

I'm pretty heavy (15 stone 2lbs) so that's why it's that high, I'm on the treadmill for most of it, not running but on the highest incline with, the fastest speed before it's running. Also some time on the step machine really but my thigh muscles were getting massive!

Once I loose a lot more it's going to harder to acheive 2000 in the same time, don't really want to spend 3 hours in the gym.

The last time I lost a lot of weight I was going 7 days a week at 1500 calories and I lost over 2 stone, but then I put it on again, so I'm really gunning for it this time, for summer on the beach in Italy.

I worked out I should try to burn about 11000 calories a week to loose roughly 3 lbs.

I'm about 15 stone at the moment, and I run just over 10 miles in 90 minutes. I certainly wouldn't say I burn 2000 calories in that time. To be honest it's irrelevant, as you're losing weight anyway, but might be something to look at closer when your weight starts to plateau. Keep up the good work.

On my cardio days, if I do around an hour of exercise, I will burn around 800 - 900 calories if I work HARD... I am 12 stone.

Generally on cardio days I'll spend about 45 minutes doing cardio though.
