Morning.

Brother and I are off to see the Rugby on Saturday. Apart from some minor technical hitches regarding accommodation, arrangements are going well. I'm looking for some advice from anyone that may have done this before.

We'll be getting in to Paris about lunchtime on Sat, and once we've found wherever it is we end up staying, we'll be looking to have a drink or two and some din dins maybe before the game. Where should we go?

I reckon we'd be best off going near the stadium a while before and settle in. What do you think? Where does everyone else go? Any good? Or is it just full of Englanders embarrassing themselves?

Assuming our accommodation doesn't work out, anyone know anywhere good to stay? Preferably cheap hotel/hostel - still a student see.

Your thoughts gentlemen please. And maybe see some of you over there.wavey

Not going this weekend, but have been many times in the past. Scare Coeur is thebest part of Paris to hang out in, day and night. Try and find the Fondu place and book a table. You can only drink red or white wine out of a baby's bottle, the owners are totally mad, you are squashed in with a load of other people, so the banter is good. There is a place around the corner that does the best 'salads' i have ever had. Think its quite famous.
At night there is a street full of bars, very relaxed, very few drunk loud Eng supporters, lots of locals, open late, lots of wine - top notch.

I always head to the stadium with spending minimum time there before kick off. Its in the middle of nowhere and inside the stadium its non alcoholic beer only. Trains are pretty easy to get from Gare Du Nord but make sure you get a return ticket, not a single.

As for accom, deff sort something out before you go. When im with mates doing it on a budget, location is better than having a nice room, you won't spend much time in it anyway.

We use this place

Have a good trip and ignore the French during the game, they will be very rude, but will be great afterwards !

Ta stimmers.

I'll take that advice about sacre coeur and the stadium. I remember St Denis didn't look that great a place when I drove though a few years ago.

Accommodation is sorted now. We're staying at a friend's place and were hoping she would be able to show us around a bit - but she's off to Prague this weekend hence logistics issues with keys.

Allez les bleus.smile Only joking.
