I'm sure i read somewhere that a new penalty shoot out format was being considered where the shoot out occurs after 90 minutes and extra time played after that. Does anybody know what name was given to this?

Its a great idea but has us all stumped as to who was considering it.

Golden goal?
Silver goal?
Extra desparate penalty?

Might be best in the footy forum.

There was an article about it on Five Live Sport last night - it's called 'The Advantage' rolleyes From what I can fathom, if it's a draw at 90 mins in a knock-out game, they'd then have the shoot-out and the winner of the shoot-out would get a (to be determined) number of goals added to their full-time total.

Then they'd play extra time with one team at an advantage (geddit?) so extra time would be more 'meanignful'.

The bloke who thought it up was some guy called 'Henry', he was interviewed on the radio - sounded a bit of a knob to be honest, thought it was the best thing since sliced bread and he reckons the FA are behind him and FIFA are interested.
