As you may have recently heard, the NFL is bringing another regular-season game to the UK in 2008. nfluk.com is thrilled to be able to announce to you that this will be played on Sunday October 26th at 5pm and will see the New Orleans Saints host the San Diego Chargers at Wembley Stadium.
The game will pit two of the NFL’s most exciting offensive teams against each other in the UK. With former NFL MVP running back LaDainian Tomlinson carrying the ball for the Chargers and the thrilling Reggie Bush doing the same when the Saints have the ball it is sure to be an explosive affair. The action will match two teams that have played in Conference Championship games in the past two NFL seasons, and is sure to have a bearing on whether they can reach those heights again during the 2008 season.

Registered my interest in tickets again last night and hopefully will be successful again.
It wasn't much of a surprise the pitch cut up with the amount of rain it put down on the day, and with the decision not to put a roof on the stadium, it would have cut up what ever sport was played that day. Didn't the pitch cut up badly in the first game played there (England U21)?
To be honest I don't think it was ever going to be played anywhere else but Wembley. Cardiff and Murryfield haven't got the capacity. They are going to want to make as much money as possible on these games.

I'm quite surprised that they have opted for Wembley again. The pitch cut up terribly last time and I thought the atmosphere was a bit flat (only saw on TV). I thought they might have gone for the Millenium stadium. Good to see LT and Reggie Bush here.
Yeah, it thought they would go for the MS too. Loved they way they claim Edinburgh was actually a serious option, despite saying they could have sold Wembley out 5 or 6 times last time and Murrayfield holding significantly less than Wembley and MS.Atmosphere in Wembley was a bit flat but i think that had more to do with the weather, which was appalling. Didn't make for a very good game.
I think the date this year isn't around any games due to be played at Wembley, i also heard they might be putting in a different surface for the NFL game as long as all future NFL games go to Wembley.
Two good attacking teams though, should be a good game

do the tickets sell like hotcakes? i might consider taking my old man as we both like a bit of NFL (one of the very few things we actually have in common!)
Forget about it if you are not succesful in the application for tickets. The demand from Europe for tickets its ridiculous. Hardest event in the UK last year to get tickets for! They aint cheap either if i remember correctly

I think they are limiting each applicant to 4 tickets this year, I could have bought up to 6 last year.
Tickets are from £45-£100. Club Wembley seats have already been on sale @ £125

I'm just about to go and clean out the car and fuel it up ready for a 6am start. Hopefully then get to Hillingdon tube station for 10am and then tube it in to central London and do a few touristy things.
Think I'll take the waterproofs as well. The rain last year was just reaching our seats in row 33 so I think I be getting wet this year as we are on row 14.
Just hope that it is a better game than last year.

My group are abandoning the car near Uxbridge and tubing it in. Off to the other tailgate party http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=29178336930
We also plan to hit town. There is talk of going to Foot Locker for jerseys...

I've just got back after a great day. Enjoyed the game so much more than last years, although I'm sure the rain during the game didn't help last year. Was a bit worried when I set of at 6am and it was chucking it down and didn't really stop raining till around 2pm.
Now to wait to see who will be the teams next year and will I be lucky in the ballet for tickets again, although again the touts seemed to have a fair few tickets available.
