Of all the players, in all the positions that Tottenham desperately need, why on earth are they paying £9 million for another striker?

Could there possibly be any logic whatsoever to this?

I'm guessing the manager isn't keen on Defoe and Bent and deal has been done for Berbs.

My view of the Spurs stike options is:

1. Keane - Fantastic player. Unpredictable, which isn't popular with other strikers apart from Berbatov.
2. Berbatov - Inconsistant and often lazy, but a fantastic 'technician'. Loves playing with Keane, which may well sway any decision on his future.
3. Defoe - A client of Sky Andrew whose previous Spurs player, Mr. Campbell said: "I love this club and I don't want to leave" right up until his contract expired and...he left. Sound familiar??? Good in the box, no anticipation, don't think Berbatov's impressed.
4. Bent - Where do I start? A quick way of turning £16M into £10M I reckon....

5?. Fred - Replacement for Defoe and maybe Bent.

Good call Ferg.
I think they are all a little better than you suggest, but I have heard nothing of firm offersfor any of them as yet.

Just heard on Sky Sports News that Fred has been after a move since "losing his place in the Lyon first team a while ago".

FFS

Why are we buying players who can't get into the Lyon first team??? And for £9 Million apparently!

We have an ample strike force as it is but if we're going to buy a striker cos someone is about to leave us then why him?

Baffled...

I cannot comprehend the Spurs tranfer policy over the past year.
The mind boggles.
