Why are Everton and Liverpool both looking to build new stadia? Shouldn't they consider doing what Milan and Inter did: build one large stadium to share.....?

I'm waiting for them to submit plans for how they intend to fill a 50,000 stadium!

Well with an average attendance of 35,500 in 06/07 and numerous sell outs at just over 40,000. Add that to a brand new stadium, a team that is establishing itself in the best 6 in the prem, club buying players such as Yakubu and looking to be more ambitious.

I think thats how !!

Sorry, but your hardly "establishing yourself in the best 6 in the prem"!

Look at Spurs - 2 years at 5th and now what?

Not even a top 10 team today...

You need to be in the top 6 for a good 3 or 4 years to claim 'establishing' rights which is why the top 4 can all claim that they are ACTUALLY established as a top 4 side.

You wont fill a 50,000 stadium on days when you play Derby et all unlike Man Utd, Arsenal etc.

Do you know the difference between the word established and establishing ????

ps - we don't play Derby every week, just once this season if i remember correctly. I think you under-estimate the support Everton has. We shall see.

whatever

Bear in mind also that at that sort of attendance level there's going to be a lot of people in disadvantageous seats with restricted views, too, people who might be more likely to attend more games if the view was better.
However, this may be offset in part by the fact that the new stadium might simply be not as easy for the current supporters to get to.

I'd be happier if we'd had 2 consecutive top-half PL finishes (ever). Still, I
agree that things are moving in the right direction.

He's certainly off to a flier, let's just hope it lasts (and he doesn't just get bored, or too "ambitious" )
