Hopefully some of you will have seen the intense press coverage concerning this matter over the weekend. The government, in their infinite wisdom, have seen fit to deport a young football player back to Sierra Leone.

What is wrong with this?

1) Al Bangura's life is underthreat if he returns to Sierra Leone
2) He has just become a father to a British citizen
3) He has contributed around £120,000 in taxes since his arrival. Not bad for a 19 year old.

Al Bangura grew up in Sierra Leone, the son of a cult-leader. The cult practises some fairly dark arts, and when Al's father died, he was expected to take over this cult - or suffer from it. He chose to run away to neighbouring Guinea, where he was found by a Frenchman, and trafficked back to Paris and then London - in order to work as a male prostitute.

Al escaped and sought asylum - he was granted leave to remain until he became an adult. In the meantime he was spotted by a Watford scout playing in a park. Since then he has played over 50 games for the club.

Why should this young and promising career and life be extinguished so brutally when so many come here to milk our system?

Please sign the petition to keep him here: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/save-al-bangura.

Yes, I am a Watford fan!

Ok, now I'm a Watford supporter as well, but it wouldn't matter who Al played for, I'd still feel the same way.

Reading the background story, I really can't understand why he has been refused permission to stay - it makes no sense at all.

He's a young lad you has actually made something of his life. He pays his taxes (I heard the £120k was for last season alone), works with the local community as part of his role, has just become a father and would be in serious danger if he was to return to Sierra Leone - where he doesn't have any family and is not going to be able to continue his career in any way.

I'd love to know the reasons why he has been denied permission to stay when there are so many wasters who are allowed to stay and sponge off the state.

Footballing reasons aside, this young guy is actually very likely to be killed should be be sent "home".

I've signed the petition already and ask anyone to please take a few minutes to sign it also no matter what team you support.

If his life was in danger when sent home, then yes...

He is far more deserving then your average economic migrant that the government loves to welcome with gifts paid from your taxes.

Coming out of the Hawthorns once (after another tonking there, 4-1), the away end has a lovely vista of B'ham. It was particularly grim and grey that day and my mate uttered the immortal words:

"We may have lost, but at least we don't have to live here!"

yes Birmingham is a hole. Wolverhampton is like the French Riviera in comparison wink
