Well, I got the dreaded 'thanks but no this time' magazine the other day.
Has anyone ever got in through the ballot system? (before the 5th attempt).
Out of the 5 people I know who entered (some on there 3rd attempt) have all been rejected - that's a pretty high rate of rejection.

Thinking about doing Edinburgh instead as we get guaranteed entry for being rejected from London.

Anyone done Edinburgh?

Much to my surprise I got the "Congratulations you're in!" magazine through the post last week. This was my 3rd year of applying, and will be my first ever marathon. Doing the Bedford Half Marathon on sunday, so hopefully I've plenty of time to get some miles under my belt before April.....

FLM applications do seem to be completely random though, my brother entered through the ballot twice and got in both times!

I've always reckoned that this makes for an interesting Catch 22 scenario! If you're mad enough to want to run for 26 miles, then you're clearly a danger to yourself, so the organisers should have a duty of care not to let you out on the streets of London! wink

Rejected thankfully, can wait for another year or two. Just building up the 5 rejections to get in for sure

Yep rejected again (third time), like the others say it just means more training time so when I do eventually get in it should be slightly easier wink Also my collection of rather oversized small coats is growing.
