Have to say I was pissed off with the geordie faithful for booing gerrard today due to "englands" demise. I mean WTF. He gives 100% for club and country. WTF should he be getting grief about - he ran his arse of for his country and has played in all positions without ever moaning in any OTT way that most players nowadays do.

If I was gerrard I'd tell england to off and concentrate on club football. Gerrard is a true and honest gent (I know people who know him really well) and he has on numerous occasions made the dreams come true of young children by visiting them when in hospital etc.

If the rest of the english population outside of the red army of liverpool don't appreciate him - then them and england.

YNWA.

It wasn't just "Stevie G" that was booed today.

It was all of the England team, at their respective matches today.

So he doesn't score a goal in the game and gets grief - lets forget about the world cup shall we where he was a holding midfielder and yet did the business???

I hope he retires from international football. 95% of the england fans are morons who just want to boo for the sake of booing. Seems to be fashionable these days.

How else do you expect England supporters to be heard?

Write to the FA? LOL

Write to the clubs where the players are? LOL

Write to the players? ROFL

Their only outlet is their behaviour at games. The England players deserved it, and Gerrard was suitably ashamed in the post match interview.

I did the Middlesbrough game today, Scott Carson was booed as well. That is, until he started having a frankly brilliant game, which shut the Boro supporters up (not to mention going 3 down smile)

I have to say he was very poor against Croatia, he only really woke up in the last 10 minutes.

BUT....
That was VERY unusual for him in an England shirt, and..
He was no worse than all but perhaps 3 other England player, and...
What's the point in booing them anyway?

They'd soon whine if he walked away.....

Completely disagree with parrot of doom.

- David Bently ed around with the U21s and got booed so I understand that.
- Phil Neville gives 100%, never moans that he's a squad player and gets booed when he comes on just a couple of games ago.
- Man Utd Players used to get booed all the time.
- Frank Lampard for some unknown is getting booed.
- John Barnes used to get relentlessly booed.
- Paul Ince was booed by a section of the crowd when he captained the country.
- Peter Crouch was booed when he began his england career, he wasn't even given a chance

So if you can explain the logic of booing then I'll happily accept the challenge - its just random and spitful from the morons known typically as England fans, not an outlet for true critisim.

I really hope he does a carragher and walks - then you'll be sorry.

This is supposedly a quote from lampard

"I have nothing to prove. The more experience you get in football, the more you realise that you don't take notice of what someone wants to say about you who isn't involved in football or is just a fan."

Just a fan! just the people who pay youre ing wages and get their hopes up week in and week out when going to teh match is the only relief from their missereable lives. Yeah just a fan

he deserves more than booing

Maybe it's because he is always really good when he plays for Chelsea and really shit when he plays for England?

I'm with PoD on this one.

It wasn't just about the Croatia game anyway - the whole squad was woeful for the whole qualifying campaign (bar a few 3-0 victories). They all deserve booing, for failing to support their country.

Feel free to boo them, we expect more for the obscene wages that England and their clubs are paying them.

Value for money equals nill.

The booing is random. I'm obviously right in what I'm saying as no one has argued against the point of my post!
