As a long standing Hatter who was there in '88 this is a sad day for everyone associated with Kenilworth Road.
Rumours have been circulating for a while that this would happen and the latest rumour is they'll be bought by the MK Dons and become one team called something like Luton Dons.
Forget the heartless primadonas on Wednesday night, this is truly sad for English football.

That 0-4 drubbing was horrid to watch. Never before have I seen a team look like ghosts on the pitch.
At the Worthington Cup game a Watford supporting mate of mine got us some tickets at the Vicarage Road end. All the supporters around me were chanting "Four nil, to the golden boys" for the build up and all through the first 20 minutes.
It made it all the more sweet when Matty Spring scored his 30 yard screamer right under my nose. Funny how he's gone back and forth between the two clubs.
I do think it's strange that some Hornets are feeling happy about Luton going under. Surely you want a rival to keep going so that you can have a rivalry?

I concur with this sentiment, over paid prima-donnas good riddance! Hopefully a few more will fall due to the credit crunch soon. Their monthly wage bill is significantly less than the average Premiership club's weekly salary. They buy players in the lower leagues for Rio Ferdinand's weekly pay.
